New Slaanesh Daemon Legion. Speed Bitches MKII!

Almost a year ago to the day I sold off my beloved Slaanesh Daemon Legion army. I loved that army and performed well with it and even got a couple o best army awards. However I had played it to death and when I recieved a reasonable offer to part with it I sent them off for new hedonistic malarkey in lands new.
Anyhow since then I have dabbled with a multitude of lists but can't quite find my playing style with them. So I have decided to have another go with the Beyatches  Though tbh I think the amount of WE at events will make the list a lot weaker.
However it's all about the modelling....honest.
This time there will be a lot more conversions and very dark n nasty colour scheme to contrast the bright scheme I had on the last one.
Having spoken to Johnny T (Maestro) at the Dutch GT (instead of playing! ) about a plethora of modelling/painting ideas (and filth!) I 'borrowed' a couple of his conversion ideas. Namely using Witch Elves with Flayed One hands as nettes -John was going to use them as Devoted (but woosed out due to the lack of none GW events in The Netherlands, being in the UK I can stick two fingers up to GW and the none SoC lists....)
In any case first things first a few of the Daemonettes before i took them in the shed and sprayed them (fnarr)
The unit(s) will be a mix of regular Daemonette minis with the claw arms removed and filed down and the flayed on talons added onto the reg nette arms (with daggers and hands removed). All the parts are pinned and being as the parts are so thin I swore a lot. They have 2-4 pins per mini.
The other minis used are the DE Witch Elves with Khaine symbols removed. Some of them have head swaps with Daemontte minis (a la Lion Of Flanders) others have all of the regular WE hair filed down and GS 'tendrils' added.
These pics are taken just after sanding (makes painting it easier later) they have since been sprayed. I wil post a unit piccy later. I will have two units. One of 15 (with full command) and one of 12 (with Std and champ). The pics aren't great as it was raining so I took them just inside the doorway.
Champion (I have since removed the sand from the claw tips, damn PVA!)

Rumble In The Jungle

Well it's been a while, general laziness has prevented me from updating the site. Even though I have been mighty busy these past few months.

I have finished painting the Lizardman army and have got round to taking a few piccies of the army. The army won Best Painted army at the Sheffield Slaughter event last week, so I was rather happy!

It has since moved on to pastures new (as is my habit) and I am now working on two new armies. An Undivided Daemon Legion of mucho convertedness and an all new Slaanesh Daemon Legion with a different colour scheme to the last one and with a Kipper as general. The Slaanesh army is likely to get the lions share of attention as I have actually started work on the Undecided but have got a little despondent with the amount of time all the conversions are taking up.

Anyway Lizzie Pics, enjoy!

Arise Sir Camembert!

Painted this chappy up for a wee lil painting challenge on The Warhammer Forum (www.warhammer.org.uk) . The challenge was True Mettalics ,none of this NMM rubbish. I have always loved this sculpt (Brian Nelson's work) but never had an opportunity to paint one up as I dont have an Empire army. Anyhow the challenge gave me the perfect opportunity to get stuck in and I quite like the result. I went for a cold autumnal feel to the display base what with the bare tree and leafy ground etc (I have been cold and autumnal myself, recently bloody motorbike at 4.30 am grumble grumble).

Looks alright I feel , I am rather happy with him for a days work.

Bloody hell these updates are almost becoming spasmodic! On the Lizardman front I have almost finished another 20 skinks. Then some Terradon goodness.

Britcon Success

Well the Speed Bitches did me proud at Britcon. I came 4th overall, and won Best Painted Army amongst the WFB contingent. Good stuff!
The Speed Bitches have been retired now, though I plan to paint up an Exalted Daemon and a Herald on a Steed.
Next though Block fans, I will be finishing off the Lizardman army, it's about 50% finished at the mo, so I will be rolling up me sleaves and jumping in.

I only plan to attend one more tournament this year, the WPS GT in Nov. Hopefully I will have the Lizzies finished for then.. If not I will have to borrow an army (not me at all).

Timmy got a Kipper!

I have wanted to piant up a Kipper for a while now. Playing with the 2 flying Daemons is getting a bit boring , so I wanted to chuck something different into the mix. The upcoming 2750 point Britcon tournament seemed the ideal opportunity to paint up the big guy (gal?). I am pretty pleased with the conversion & paint job. Next up a Herald BSB on a Steed of Slaanesh.

See told you I would post a picture! :-)

Another swif ;) no pic update!

Well I didnt quite get all the stuff painted that I wanted last weekend for the GW GT Heat 1. My chariots were passable but not finished and my ED was way behind so I used one of my Spawn with wings instead. I didnt bother putting my army out after game 1 (when they choose which armies to nominate) as no point really. However I will be getting things done and ready for Britcon. I have a lot of touching up to do on various minis.

As the ED wasnt finished I will hang back on gluing the wings on and instead finish painting/basing him/her and use him as a Keeper Of Secrets in future instead. He is made from a large amount of Kipper bits so will look the nuts.

I need to finish my chariots and 3 Pleasureseekers as well. Pics to come (honest).

Incidentally I qualified for the GT finals in 35th place, not great but I played poorly in at least 3 games so I am grateful just to qualify.

Swif Update

Haven't posted for a while so a swift update is well overdue.

At the moment I am painting up my new lizardman army, I have completed a scar vet, swarm, 10 skinks, stegadon and 4 kroxior, with more on the way.

I am also working on 2 new Slaanesh Daemon Chariots and an Exalted Daemon in time for Heat 1 in early August.

As well as that I am working on a load of Confrontation minis as a private commission.

Expect lots of pics in the upcoming weeks!

Tim
